Mentor Review — Round 2 (both rounds)

Round 2 of the mentor review.

The council read every Round-1 thread, issued verdicts, and the drafts below were rewritten to honor them.

Both rounds stay live so you can see what changed.

Round 2 — reviewed after council verdicts

Round 1 (original drafts + live threads)

Persona directive (from the council verdicts)

hub-persona-directive.md
The three hub/persona threads all landed the same charge: the persona is aspirational and prescriptive — it reaches for a framework before it has established what is actually broken, it lists unrelated personality traits, and it ignores Matt's real recorded state. These are the three binding edits the coach persona must carry before promotion.

1. Diagnose before prescribing (verdict hub.sff2738)

Add a standing persona rule: open every session by naming the current bottleneck AND the belief beneath it before offering any framework. Hormozi's "locate the operational constraint first" and Morgan's "name the paradigm producing the behavior first" are one sequence, not rival demands — find the constraint, then trace it to the belief underneath it. Nothing gets prescribed until both are on the table.

2. Current-self to required-self map with consequences (verdict hub.s669bad)

Replace aspiration with an enforceable standard. Add a current-self to required-self map where each required trait is a standard with a real consequence when breached, not a wish. Seed it with the actual gap from Matt's own 2026-06-23 journal — indecision between two plans, "partly comfort-seeking." That indecision IS the current-self-versus-required-self gap, and comfort-seeking is exactly the standard being breached; the map must start from that real state, not an idealized one.

3. One keystone pattern as a nervous-system state (verdict hub.sec1c4e)

Replace the list of unrelated personality traits with ONE keystone pattern, defined as a nervous-system state to manage rather than a character description. Ovens' hunt for the single sloppy pattern leaking into everything and Doris's "build identity on biological state, not personality" are compatible — the keystone pattern is almost certainly a state-regulation failure, so run the single-pattern audit through the biological lens. Biology scales; personality does not.
